Host Box was created to make entertaining easier with less waste and less stress.

Started by Lexi Rossiter in 2020, Host Box was born from a love of entertaining. Growing up with one of those mothers who loved to host, Lexi had a strong connection to entertaining at home. Unfortunately, unlike her family home that she grew up in, she lived most of her life in apartments and always struggled to have all her friends and family around for special occasions due to the lack of matching crockery, cutlery and glasses.

“I remember the first year my husband and I wanted to host an Easter lunch at our brand new apartment we had just bought, we squeezed 15 of us into our living/dining area and I used every glass we had just to give everyone something to drink out of. I had thought of going to buy all new items for the lunch but aside from the initial cost layout of buying everything matching I’d have nowhere to put it all after the lunch was over, so I had to just make do.”

Now however, you don’t have to make do, you can make a perfect tablescape for any occasion using Host Box, knowing all your items will come matching, coordinated to a theme or event and there’s no need to store anything afterwards, as it all gets returned to the Host Box HQ after your event. Our picnics have been popping up on the Gold Coast and Brisbane since March 2021 and our Host Boxes can be delivered anywhere in Australia.

Host Box understands that entertaining can often be a cause of a lot of waste in most households, especially when it comes to kids parties! The lure of the quick clean up using plastic plates, forks and napkins can often end in just as much mess, as you have bags and bags of waste at the end of the day. Here at Host box, we don’t believe in using single use plastic items and even in our kids ranges we use durable, reusable melamine plates and tumblers, linen napkins and steel and reusable plastic cutlery.

All our standard boxes are fitted out with steel cutlery, cotton and linen tablecloths and porcelain plates and bowls ensuring a long durable life from each item.

Here at Host box we believe entertaining shouldn’t cost the earth and now we’re making it as easy as possible to have a zero waste party for any occasion.
